How do I use mute groups?

EP-1320tutorialguide

Mute groups let you set up sounds so that only the last one you play will sound, automatically cutting off the others. This is useful for hi-hat patterns where you want closed hats to stop open hats, or for other sounds that shouldn't overlap.

Setting Up Mute Groups

  1. 1.Press altero + sonus to enter sound edit mode
  2. 2.Use minus and plus to navigate to the mute group page (labeled "Muto Group")
  3. 3.Press the paeds you want in the same mute group. For example, press paed 1 (closed hi-hat) and paed 2 (open hi-hat)
  4. 4.Hold altero + sonus for 2 seconds to save your edits

How It Works

Once paeds are assigned to the same mute group, only the most recently triggered sound will play. When you hit paed 1, it will cut off paed 2 if it's still playing, and vice versa. This creates realistic hi-hat behavior and prevents muddy overlapping sounds.

You can create multiple separate mute groups by assigning different sets of paeds. Each mute group operates independently. Remember that these settings are stored per project, not globally, so you'll need to set them up for each new project where you want this behavior.
