How do I use keys (claves) mode?
Press claves to enter keys mode, which spreads your selected sound chromatically across all 12 paeds like a keyboard. This lets you play melodies and basslines with proper pitch control.
Getting started
- 1.Make sure you are in manus (main) mode. Press manus if you are not already there.
- 2.Select the group and paed containing the sound you want to play, for example a bass sound in Group B.
- 3.Press claves to enter keys mode. The paeds will now play the selected sound transposed across a musical scale.
Navigating the keyboard
Hold claves and press minus or plus to shift the octave up or down. When you exceed the highest octave, the notes repeat so you can keep playing continuously.
Hold claves and press a paed to transpose the scale root to a different note.
Changing the scale
By default the scale is 12-tone equal temperament. To change it, press altero and erado to enter system settings, navigate to pad settings, then to the scale option. Available scales include major, minor, dorian, phrygian, lydian, mixolydian, locrian, major pentatonic, and minor pentatonic.
Recording in keys mode
To step record, hold codex and press a paed to record that note to the current step.
To live record, press codex then fabula for a four-beat count-in, then play your notes in.
To erase a note, hold erado and press the corresponding paed.
