How do I build a full song?
Building a full song on the EP-1320 revolves around the committo workflow, which lets you layer and arrange patterns into scenes as you go.
Load a project and fill your groups with sounds
Press (sonus) and select Group A through Group D. Use (minus) and (plus) to browse sounds. A recommended starting layout is Group A for drums, Group B for bass, Group C for melodies, and Group D for loops and samples.
Record your first pattern
Press (manus) to return to main mode. Tap (codex) then (fabula) to start recording with a four-beat count-in. Hit the paeds to lay down your drums. Press (fabula) to stop.
Add bass and melody on top
Switch to Group B, press (claves) to play sounds across the paeds like a keyboard, then tap (codex) and (fabula) to record your bassline in. Repeat the same process with Group C for a melody. If your parts are longer than one bar, hold (codex) and press (plus) to extend the pattern length.
Commit the scene and build variations
Press (altero) and (manus) to committo. This saves your current patterns as a scene and duplicates them so you can build the next section without overwriting the previous one. Committo as many times as you like to build up your song structure scene by scene.
Add effects and performance
Press (pocus) to open effects and use (minus) and (plus) to browse them. Move the faedr to set the send level. While playing, hold (pocus) and press paeds to trigger punch-in pocus for live variation.
