What's the best workflow for beginners?
Start by getting comfortable with the basic recording chain: pick a synth sound, record to tape, then experiment with the mixer. This mirrors how most music creation works and lets you build skills gradually.
Learning Path
- 1.Press Synth and try the presets using sound keys 1-8. Play the keyboard to hear different synth engines.
- 2.Press Tape and select track T1. Press REC + Play, then play some notes on the keyboard. Press Stop when done.
- 3.Press Mixer and use the four encoders to adjust your track's volume. Try the EQ (T2) to shape the sound.
- 4.Add more tracks by selecting T2, T3, or T4 in Tape mode and repeating the record process.
Key Beginner Concepts
Press Help while playing to see note names. Hold Help + any button to see what that button does. This is your fastest way to learn.
The SHIFT key unlocks alternate functions for nearly every control. Start simple, then gradually explore SHIFT combinations as you get comfortable.
Common Workflow
Build songs by layering tracks. Record drums first (use Drum mode), then bass (low synth notes), then melody. Use Mixer to balance everything. The orange encoder in Tape mode controls each track's recording level.
Save sounds you like by holding any sound key (1-8) for 5 seconds.
