What are the tape tricks?
OP-1tutorialguide
Tape tricks are a set of live performance functions that appear on sound selection keys 1-8 when you are in Tape or Mixer mode.
The eight tape tricks are
- Loop In sets the loop in point of the tape.
- Loop Out sets the loop out point.
- Loop Toggle toggles loop on and off. Press Shift + Loop to loop the current take.
- Break stops the tape. If a loop is active it continues in the background to keep the break in time.
- Reverse changes the direction of the tape.
- Chop a tempo locked repeat effect.
- Memo 1 memorizes any parameters for instant recall. To store, hold M1 and turn any encoders, then release when done. Press M1 again to recall. Press M1 and M2 together for a blend of both memorized states.
- Memo 2 works the same as Memo 1, giving you a second memory slot.
Pro tips
- Memo is handy for quickly switching between EQ settings or boosting an effect level while the tape is running.
- You can combine M1 and M2 for a mix between the two memorized states, which is useful for live blending.
