The OP-1 has eight tape tricks accessed by keys 1-8 on the right side when in Tape mode. These are quick-access functions for creative tape manipulation.

Available Tape Tricks

  1. 1.IN - Sets the loop start point at current tape position
  2. 2.OUT - Sets the loop end point at current tape position
  3. 3.Loop Toggle - Turns looping on/off. Press SHIFT + Loop to automatically loop around the current take you're working on
  4. 4.Break - Stops the tape immediately while the loop continues running in the background. Useful for maintaining timing while creating breaks in playback
  5. 5.Reverse - Flips the tape playback direction backward or forward
  6. 6.Chop - Creates a tempo-locked repeat effect that stutters the current section in time with your BPM
  7. 7.M1 (Memo 1) - Hold this key while turning any encoder to memorize that parameter's position. Press M1 again to instantly recall it
  8. 8.M2 (Memo 2) - A second memory slot that works the same as M1. Press M1 and M2 together to mix between the two memorized states

Performance Tip

The memo keys (M1 and M2) are particularly powerful for live performance. You can memorize different tape speeds, loop points, or any other parameter setting and jump between them instantly during playback.
