How do I use the mixer?
The mixer is the final stage of the OP-1's sound path, letting you set levels and panning for your four tape tracks, adjust EQ, add a master effect, and control drive.
Accessing the mixer
Press the Mixer key to enter mixer mode. From there, press T1, T2, T3, or T4 to navigate the four mixer sections.
Setting track levels and panning (T1)
Press T1 to open the main mixer screen. Turn each encoder to set the volume (0-99) for its corresponding tape track:
- Blue encoder, track 1
- Green encoder, track 2
- White encoder, track 3
- Orange encoder, track 4
Hold Shift while turning an encoder to adjust the pan left/right for that track.
EQ (T2)
Press T2 to access the equalizer. Turn the blue encoder for low/bass, green for mids, white for high/treble, and orange for overall EQ amount. Turn orange counter-clockwise for a clean signal with no EQ applied.
Master effect (T3)
Press T3 to toggle the master effect on or off. Press Shift + T3 to open the effect browser and choose a different effect.
Master out and drive (T4)
Press T4 to adjust master balance, drive, and release. Drive narrows the gap between loud and quiet levels, making the output more compact. At high levels it adds distortion.
Checking the signal path
Press Shift + Mixer at any time to view the full signal path screen. A warning symbol appears if any critical level is set to zero.
