The LFO (low frequency oscillator) modulates parameters over time to create rhythmic or evolving effects. It's found in both Synth and Drum modes under T4.

Activating the LFO

Press T4 to add an LFO to your current sound. Press T4 again to toggle it on or off. Hold SHIFT + T4 to browse LFO types using the blue encoder.

LFO Types

  • Bend: pitch modulation
  • Crank: manual control via encoder
  • Element: uses external sources (mic, line-in, G-force accelerometer, FM radio)
  • MIDI: responds to incoming MIDI data
  • Random: unpredictable modulation
  • Tremolo: volume pulsing
  • Value: static offset

Parameter Control

Each LFO type uses the four encoders differently. Common parameters include speed, depth, destination, and waveform shape. Turn the encoders to adjust these values and shape your modulation.

Free vs Retriggered

When the LFO destination shows "F", it runs free without retriggering per note. This creates long sweeping effects. A free LFO with slow clock is perfect for evolving textures.

Element LFO Tip

Use Element mode to modulate based on mic input or G-force. Move the device to control the effect in real-time.
