How do I use the LFO?
OP-1tutorialguide
The LFO (low-frequency oscillator) lets you automatically modulate parameters of your synthesizer engine, envelope, or effect. Think of it as auto-tweaking a knob over time.
Loading an LFO
- 1.Select a synth or drum sound (keys 1-8).
- 2.Press shift + T4 to open the LFO browser.
- 3.Turn the blue encoder to highlight your choice.
- 4.Press T4 to confirm and exit.
Toggling on and off
Press T4 to view the LFO screen. Press T4 a second time to toggle it on or off.
Available LFO types
- Bend, uses the bender accessory for physical control
- Crank, manual music-box style control via blue encoder
- Element, uses mic, line in, FM radio, g-force, or synth envelope as a source
- MIDI, routes external MIDI CC to control parameters
- Random, randomizes all parameters for a destination
- Tremolo, modulates pitch and volume
- Value, modulates one single parameter
Value LFO (most common starting point)
Set speed with the blue encoder, amount with the green encoder, destination with the white encoder, and the specific destination parameter with the orange encoder.
Seeing the effect
Once active, you can watch the LFO influence your patch by pressing T1, T2, or T3 to view the engine, envelope, or effect screens while the LFO runs.
