How do I use the FM radio?
The OP-1 has a built-in FM radio that you can use as a live audio source for sampling, tape recording, or as an LFO input. Here is how to access and use it.
Enabling the FM radio
The first time you press shift + mic, you will be asked to enable or disable the FM radio. Select enable to make it available as an input source.
Tuning the radio
- 1.Press shift + mic to open the input screen.
- 2.Turn the blue encoder to select FM radio as your input source.
- 3.Turn the green encoder to tune to a station.
- 4.Press the green encoder to automatically scan for available stations.
Tips for better reception
Use the antenna from the OP-1 accessories kit for best results. You can also connect a 3.5mm audio cable or a pair of headphones to the line in port, which will act as an external antenna.
Using radio as a sample source
You can record FM radio directly into the drum or synth sampler. Press drum, then shift + a sound key to choose a sample-based kit, then follow the input setup steps above. Hold a key on the musical keyboard to start sampling, then release to stop.
Using radio as an LFO source
In the element LFO, you can select FM radio as the modulation source. Press shift + mic to set the input to radio, then tune to a station for a signal.
