How do I use the Arpeggio sequencer?
OP-1tutorialguide
The Arpeggio sequencer holds chord notes and distributes them in time, with options to automatically add extra notes based on a chosen type.
Selecting the Arpeggio sequencer
Press shift + sequencer key to open the sequencer browser, turn the blue encoder to highlight Arpeggio, then press the sequencer key to confirm.
Basic use
Press and hold the notes you want on the musical keyboard. The arpeggio will play those notes in sequence.
Controls
- Blue encoder: set the time signature (T gives triplet notes, 1/16 is the default)
- Green encoder: change trigger mode (none, once, each, all, or trig)
- White encoder: apply a trigger pattern using dots (play) and dashes (pause or skip)
- Orange encoder: turn to hold mode so notes keep playing without holding keys
Additional settings (hold shift)
- Shift + blue encoder: set note length in ticks from 1 to 64
- Shift + green encoder: set type, which determines what extra notes are added above your chord (octave up, octave up and down, intervals, or scale steps)
- Shift + white encoder: toggle whether dashed steps in the trigger pattern are skipped or silent pauses
- Shift + orange encoder: add swing (50% is no swing)
Tip: The trig mode is particularly good for drums, as it locks emphasis on the first note in a 4/4 pattern without adding extra notes.
