Press the Tempo key (metronome icon, top left) to access tempo and sync settings.

The blue encoder sets BPM. For fine-tuning, use SHIFT + blue encoder. You can also tap the Tempo key repeatedly to set tempo by tapping the beat you want.

Sync Modes

Use the green encoder to select sync mode:

  • Free: Tempo and tape speed are independent. No sync data sent or received.
  • Beat Match: OP-1 acts as master and sends MIDI sync. Tempo is linked to tape speed.
  • Sync: OP-1 listens to external MIDI clock via USB. Use arrow keys to nudge tempo slightly.
  • PO Sync: Syncs Pocket Operators. Left channel outputs click track, right channel outputs audio.
  • 1/16 Sync: Press SHIFT + green encoder while in PO mode for double-tempo sync, useful for eurorack devices.

Metronome

The orange encoder controls metronome pitch. Turn it fully down to disable the metronome click.
