Connecting inputs to the TX-6:

Physical inputs:

  • Channels 1-6: 3.5mm TRS jacks
  • Inputs are paired: 1&2, 3&4, 5&6
  • Stereo sources use both of a pair
  • Mono sources use single channels

Connection types:

Synths and drum machines:

  • 3.5mm to 3.5mm cable
  • Or 1/4" to 3.5mm adapter
  • Connect to input pair
  • Pan L/R or keep centered

Microphones:

  • 3.5mm mic input
  • Use channels 5&6 for mic (optimized)
  • May need preamp for quiet mics
  • CM-15 works directly

USB audio:

  • Connect via USB-C
  • TX-6 becomes audio interface
  • 12 channels to computer
  • 6 channels from computer

Setting input levels: 1. Turn up source output 2. Check TX-6 meters 3. Adjust until healthy level (green, occasional yellow) 4. Avoid red (clipping)

Stereo vs mono:

  • Stereo: Use both channels of a pair
  • Mono: Use single channel, pan to center
  • Link pairs for ganged control

Tips:

  • Use quality cables
  • Keep cables short if possible
  • Balanced cables reject noise better
  • Check input isn't overloading

Common setups:

  • 1&2: Main synth (stereo)
  • 3&4: Drum machine (stereo)
  • 5: Vocals (mono)
  • 6: Auxiliary (mono)
