How do I use the sequencer?

The OP-1 has multiple sequencer types, each with unique approaches:
Access sequencers: 1. Press the sequencer button (1-4) 2. Each number is a different sequencer type 3. Turn blue encoder within each to select variants
Main sequencer types:
Pattern (grid-based):
- Traditional step sequencer
- Place notes on a grid
- Good for drums and melodies
- Press keys to add notes to steps
Endless:
- Records everything you play
- Loops at set length
- Overdub by playing more
- Great for building up parts
Finger:
- Motion-based sequencer
- Draw patterns with your finger
- Creates generative, evolving sequences
- Unique to OP-1
Sketch:
- Visual drawing sequencer
- Draw shapes that become notes
- Experimental and playful
Using a sequencer: 1. Select your synth sound first 2. Press sequencer button 3. Build your pattern (method depends on type) 4. Press play to hear the sequence 5. Record to tape to capture
Sequencer tips:
- Sequence length: Orange encoder
- Tempo: Shift + tempo, turn encoder
- Quantize: Some sequencers auto-quantize
- Record to tape to free up sequencer for next part
Workflow: 1. Build drum pattern in sequencer 2. Record to tape track 1 3. Clear sequencer 4. Build bass pattern 5. Record to tape track 2 6. Repeat for more layers
