Sampling on the OP-1 can be done through the sampler synth engine:

Access the sampler: 1. Press synth button 2. Turn blue encoder to find "sampler" engine 3. Press blue encoder to select

Choose input source:

  • Built-in microphone
  • Line input (mini jack)
  • FM radio
  • Press shift + mic to toggle between sources

Record a sample: 1. In sampler engine, press record 2. Audio is captured while record is held 3. Release to stop recording 4. Sample is automatically loaded

Edit your sample:

  • Green encoder: Start point
  • White encoder: End point
  • Orange encoder: Playback direction/loop
  • Blue encoder: Pitch/speed

Sample tricks:

  • One-shot: Play the sample once per key press
  • Loop: Sample repeats continuously
  • Forward/reverse: Play sample backwards
  • Pitch across keys: Sample plays at different pitches

Saving samples: 1. Press shift + synth to access save menu 2. Select a save slot 3. Your sample + settings are stored 4. Recall anytime by loading that preset

Tips:

  • Sample vinyl records for texture
  • Use radio for random/experimental samples
  • Sample your own synth patches with effects
  • Layer multiple samples by bouncing to tape

Memory note: The OP-1 has limited sample memory. Complex/long samples use more space.
