How do I start recording on the TP-7?
Recording on the TP-7 field recorder:
Power on: 1. Slide the power switch 2. Wait for the display to initialize 3. The motorized reel spins up
Basic recording: 1. Press the record button once to arm 2. Press again (or press play) to start recording 3. The reel turns and levels display 4. Press stop to end recording
Input options:
- Built-in mics: Stereo microphones on device
- 3.5mm input: External microphone or line
- USB-C audio: From computer or phone
Setting levels: 1. Press input/settings button 2. Adjust input gain 3. Watch the level meter 4. Aim for peaks around -6dB
Quick memo function: 1. Press the memo button 2. Recording starts immediately 3. Press again to stop 4. Perfect for quick ideas or notes
Recording tips:
- Use the built-in mics for ambient recordings
- Connect CM-15 mic for vocals/instruments
- Monitor via headphone jack
- Check levels before important recordings
