How does audio scrubbing work?
TP-7scrubbingaudio scrubnavigation
Audio scrubbing on the TP-7 lets you navigate recordings like tape:
What is scrubbing?
- Moving through audio by "scrubbing" the wheel
- Like fast-forwarding/rewinding tape
- But with direct position control
- Hear the audio as you scrub
Using scrub mode: 1. With a recording loaded, touch the wheel 2. Turn the wheel to move through the audio 3. Audio plays at scrub speed 4. Release to stop at current position
Scrub speed:
- Slow turn = slow scrub (detailed)
- Fast turn = quick navigation
- The reel visually matches your movement
Why scrub?
- Find specific moments in recordings
- Navigate long recordings quickly
- Locate edit points
- Review content efficiently
Combining with playback: 1. Scrub to find your starting point 2. Press play to listen from there 3. Stop and scrub to new location 4. Repeat
Marker points:
- Set markers at important spots
- Jump between markers
- Markers survive power cycles
Tips:
- Scrub before deleting to confirm content
- Use scrubbing to find the best take
- The physical feel mimics real tape machines
- Great for transcription or editing work
