How to factory reset the OP-XY
A factory reset erases all user content and settings, returning the OP-XY to its original factory defaults. It also recreates the original file structure on the device. Back up any projects you want to keep before you start, because the reset is permanent.
Back up your projects first
A factory reset permanently removes every project, sample and preset. Copy anything you want to keep to your computer before you continue.
- Connect the OP-XY to your computer with a USB-C cable.
- Press com to open the connectivity menu.
- Enter MTP mode, then copy your projects folder to a safe location on your computer.
If you are unsure whether you still need a project, back it up anyway. There is no way to recover content once the reset finishes.
Run the factory reset
The reset runs from te boot, the OP-XY's low-level boot menu. You enter it by holding com while the device powers on.

Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the reset.
Finish and restart
Once the reset completes, the OP-XY is back at its factory defaults with the original file structure restored.
- Power the device off and back on again to exit te boot.
- The OP-XY returns to normal operation, ready to load your backed-up projects if needed.
