The EP Sample Tool is a web application for transferring audio files to and from your KO II via USB-C connection. It gives you more control over your sample library than recording through the mic or line input.

Accessing the Tool

Connect your KO II to your computer using the USB-C port. Visit the EP Sample Tool web app at teenage.engineering/apps (the exact URL is found in the apps section of Teenage Engineering's website).

Supported Formats

The tool accepts standard audio files and supports lower sample rates down to 11.025 kHz. Using lower sample rates lets you fit approximately 50 minutes of mono audio into just 64 MB of the device's 128 MB memory, giving you more storage space for samples.

Organizing Your Library

You can rename samples before or after transfer. When you hold a pad in sound mode, the device displays the sample name if it was imported or renamed via the EP Sample Tool. This makes it much easier to find specific sounds in your library of 999 slots.

Best Practices

Organize samples by category before importing. The default organization is kicks 1-99, snares 100-199, hi-hats 200-299, percussion 300-399, bass 400-499, melodic 500-599, loops 600-699, and user slots 700-999. Following this structure keeps your workflow efficient.
