How do I update the firmware?

Connect your OP-1 Field to your computer via USB-C and visit teenage.engineering/apps/update. The website will detect your device and guide you through the update process automatically.

If automatic update fails

You can update manually using TE Boot (the bootloader):

  1. 1.Turn off your OP-1 Field and disconnect the USB cable
  2. 2.Hold COM while switching the power on to enter TE Boot
  3. 3.Press sound key 1 to enable mass storage mode
  4. 4.Copy the firmware file to the OP-1 Field drive that appears on your computer
  5. 5.Eject the drive safely
  6. 6.Wait for the update to complete (the device will restart automatically)

Important notes

Always check for firmware updates periodically to get new features and bug fixes. Make sure your OP-1 Field has sufficient battery before updating. Never disconnect the USB cable during a firmware update as this could damage the device.
