Every EP-40 OS release in one place: what changed, when it shipped, and how to update. Latest version: 2.5.1 (2026-07-03).
How to update
The easiest way is Teenage Engineering's browser-based updater: connect your EP-40 via USB and visit teenage.engineering/apps/update. You can also download the firmware file from the official downloads page and copy it onto the device in firmware update mode.
tip
Back up your projects before updating. Low battery during an update can corrupt the file system.
