How to use Song mode on the EP-133 K.O. II
Song mode is where loops become a track. Each song position (1 to 99) holds one scene and plays for as long as the longest pattern in that scene, so you line your scenes up in order and the K.O. II plays them back as a finished arrangement.
Build your scenes first
Song mode arranges scenes, so make your scenes before you arrange them. Hold SHIFT + MAIN to commit the current pattern setup into a scene, and repeat until you have the sections of your track (intro, verse, chorus, and so on).
Vary the pattern lengths between scenes. Each scene plays for the length of its longest pattern, so different lengths give you a more dynamic structure.
Enter Song mode
Hold MAIN and press the ENTER pad. You are now placing scenes along the song timeline instead of editing a single pattern.
Add and arrange scenes

SHIFT + Group A adds a scene at the current position.

SHIFT + minus / plus changes which scene plays at the current position.

SHIFT + Group C cuts the scene from the current position.
- 4
SHIFT + Group D inserts a scene at the current position.
Play your arrangement
- PLAY starts from the current song position.
- SHIFT + PLAY starts from the very beginning.
- minus / plus step through the song positions.
Press MAIN at any time to drop back into main mode.

How long does each scene play?

How do I get back to editing a pattern?
Press MAIN to leave song mode and return to main mode.
Can I edit a scene after adding it to the song?
Yes. Leave song mode (press MAIN), edit the scene's patterns, then return to song mode and your arrangement keeps pointing at the updated scene.
What's the difference between a pattern, a scene, and a song?
A pattern is one loop on one group. A scene is a set of patterns committed together with SHIFT + MAIN. A song is a sequence of scenes arranged in song mode.
